Spring is the perfect time for a visit to Savannah, GA. The lovely weather has the city bursting forth with flowers and greenery galore. In the historic district, everything is walkable, but public transportation is readily available to take you wherever you might want to go.
I am from the Houston area where live oak trees are in abundance, but the live oaks in Savannah have about a hundred years on ours. The result is some beautiful streets to walk down that make you feel as if you stepped into another time period. Perhaps I'll have to use Savannah in a time travel story of its own.
How wonderful that the historic district has a public square every few blocks where people can sit and enjoy the day or chat with a friend, neighbor or tourist.
And don't forget Savannah is still a working port. The Georgia Queen is a fun trip along the river in true Southern style!
